Metalink Ceramic Bead Polymer is a unique wear resistant polymer compound used to armor plate in high wear areas.  This highly unusual product relies on miniature ceramic beads and ceramic dust mixed with the polymer matrix to form a hard, wear-resistant surface.  Ceramic Bead Polymer forms a tough, non-machinable protective overlay for repairing pump housings, impellers, chutes, tanks, elbows, screens, scrubbers, dust collectors, troughs, flumes, fans, silos, abrasive cleaning equipment and many other applications.  It adheres to all ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as concrete, wood and many other materials.  In addition to wear resistance, it has excellent corrosion and erosion resistance.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Grind, sand, brush or grit-blast surface for best adhesion.  Clean with CH020 Metal Prep Degreaser and wipe dry.  In humid climates it is advisable to flame brush the surface to prevent flash rusting and to help the polymer "wet out".  Note: For application to large surface areas, it is recommended to tack weld 16 gauge expanded metal to the surface in order to increase adhesion (then grit-blast and degrease).  If expanded metal cannot be used, apply a primer coat of ML406 Brushable Ceramic Compound to the surface first.

2.  Mix 3-parts Resin to 1-part Hardener or mix the entire kit.  Mix thoroughly until uniform in color (no streaks).  When mixing entire 26 lb or 3.5 lb container it helps to use an electric drill motor and a paint mixer (jiffy mixer). Apply fully mixed material to desired surface a minimum of 3/16 to 1/4" thick and trowel smooth.

3.  Working time is 30 minutes at room temperature.  Material is hard in 3 to 4 hours.  The curing time may be shortened considerably by heating the surface to 150ºF (be careful not to burn product).
